UAE’s Masdar Spanish solar farm deal heralds more European investments

MADRID: UAE renewable energy company Masdar is looking for further opportunities in Europe's green energy sector and will consider investing in minority and controlling stakes, the company's CFO said, after striking a deal with Spain's Endesa last week. Masdar has agreed to pay 817 million euros ($887 million) for a 49.99 percent stake in 48 solar power plants controlled by Endesa, a unit of Italy's Enel, in Spain, with a combined capacity of 2 gigawatts.
