Alfheim was not the friendliest place in the Nine Realms, and the never-ending war between the Dark Elves and the Light Elves had left no love in the war-torn and eroded realm. But within the forbidden desert, love lurked within the Hafgufa, these mysterious jellyfish-like creatures bound by love but held in ancient bonds.
Kratos and Freya are tasked with freeing Hafgufa, and there are many fun elves and puzzles waiting for the player, who must complete this quest on their own. Doing so will lead to a beautiful reunion, as well as clearer skies as they venture into the Forbidden Sands, which will lead to even more secrets.
5 Fit for a king

Players will find nine tombs across the nine realms, each containing the deadly souls of brutal, mad warriors that Kratos must exterminate to put their untimely rest for the atrocities they committed. The aid of Fit for a King is essentially the game's version of the Valkyries, except that some of the fights have varying degrees of difficulty.
In battles with the Berserkers, Kratos is sometimes seen as having the upper hand, and once players have collected all 12 Berserker Souls, they will be able to face off against King Hrolf himself, a cruel and unworthy monarch who wields evil powers that must be purified for the sake of the peace of Mimir.
4 War Losses

Vanaheim is full of lush jungles, but the land is also associated with the Crater, a vast place with three new areas to explore. Within this vast place, Kratos and Atreus may encounter lost souls from the Casualty of War faction, whom they will need help with to reach the afterlife.
While most of these missions involve retrieving items, players should be more interested in the story. Discovering what happened here and the epic and secretive battle that took place between Thor and Faye when Mjolnir and the Leviathan Axe clashed all those years ago is truly memorable.
3 Freya's Missing Peace
Help Freya resolve her painful past as Odin's wife and Vanir's daughter.

Freya has not had it easy, and her journey mirrors Kratos' in many ways. Freya suffered great loss as a Vanir, and her marriage to Odin was filled with pain and suffering. Freya lost her son, her life, and her freedom all to Odin, and Freya's side quest Missing Peace is where Freya finally helps to ease her burden.
This quest revolves around the story of Freya and Odin's wedding. While there isn't much combat, there is plenty of exploration and storyline worth exploring, especially since players can get their hands on one of Freya's best rune summons.
2 Protect your courage
The fight against Odin's most loyal Valkyrie queen

The remnants of Asgard are scattered throughout the realms left after Ragnarok, and these remnants can be found in Muspelheim. However, players will not find the treasure here, but instead will find the last of the ominous Valkyries, who rebelled against their sisters, and Freya in particular, and will remain loyal to Odin forever.
This is perhaps the hardest boss fight yet, and Kratos and Freya must bring everyone together if they are to defeat the last remaining loyalists to the crumbling Odin Empire. It’s a tough but rewarding fight with emotional stakes for Freya, as the two Valkyrie Queens have a fierce heart-to-heart with each other.
1 The Collapsed Prison

One of the best side missions that lie in wait after the credits is one in which Kratos and Freya explore one of Odin's abandoned prisons, ripped from a ruined Asgard. Inside, players will encounter victims of Odin's deceptions and forgeries, where Odin imprisoned people to disguise himself. The tragic stories of victims and Odin's loyalists who were killed, this is a prison worth exploring.
Deep within the prison lies the Aesir god of war, Tyr, who comes as a reality, not an illusion. Tyr is incredibly important to the series, so finally freeing him is a nice reward, especially since players can now encounter him in new locations by meditating on his knowledge of the other gods.
