The new Turtle Beach Stealth Pivot has industry-first customization features. So it's worth buying.
At first glance, the Stealth Pivot looks a lot like Turtle Beach's Stealth Ultra, with the Connected Command screen in the middle of the built-in display. Users can view social notifications from their phone. Switch profile for button mapping and view battery information It's a lower resolution screen compared to the Stealth Ultra, but it still shows the same useful information.
The Turtle Beach Stealth Pivot Controller comes with all the right features.
Stealth Pivot has some common premium controller features such as:
- Hall Effect Joystick – Avoiding stick drift is essential for a premium controller.
- Stopping the trigger (Full and Short) – If you want to take full advantage of the trigger pull. Or do you want to treat it like a button that is pressed immediately?
- Two customizable back buttons – The back button covers the controller grip and the bottom of the controller. This makes it easy to press while still holding firmly in place.
The Stealth Pivot lifts very well and feels comfortable to hold. The controller is quite heavy due to the screen. But I didn't find it distracting or weighed down in an unbalanced way. There's also a bit of texture on the outside of the grip and buttons on the back to help make the smooth controller fit snugly in your hand.
Taking the name out of the equation, Stealth Pivot is a premium controller that checks all the boxes. Wireless functionality on PC (wired on Xbox) makes it a great option for gamers on the platform. It has a little bit of style. and is comfortable to hold in the hand But it's no ordinary controller.
By flipping the two toggles on the bottom and twisting the joystick. You can rotate the two control modules/buttons on the front of the controller. This reveals two new layouts. on the left module Rotating shows a module with a D-Pad in place of the joystick, and RSB and LSB buttons beneath it. On the right, rotating shows a module with an XYAB button in place of the joystick, and P1 and P2 buttons above them.
It depends on the module you spin. There are four possible configurations with Stealth Pivot, but it's clear that the controller is targeting the fighting game and retro gaming communities with other modules. For example, playing a side-scroller doesn't require a joystick. Second, and having 6 buttons at the tip of your thumb is an advantage. or in fighting games The precision of the D-Pad combined with the 6 buttons (for high, medium, and low movements) is better than the standard controller layout.
The Turtle Beach Stealth Pivot Controller is a great fit for the fighting and retro gaming communities.
That added versatility will give the Stealth Pivot a unique spot for many gamers. And will make it interesting. There is even an option to switch to A “side-scrolling mode” or “fighting game mode” would be interesting, but they're completely optional. That being said, the Stealth Pivot is a solid controller with no need to change modules. Being able to pivot is a bonus. Whether you find Turtle Beach's controller more appealing than some similarly priced premium controllers remains to be seen. It depends on how useful the switching mechanism is to you.
As with most Turtle Beach controllers, you can go into the Control Center app and customize things like RGB colors, dead zones, map all the buttons. Or set the sound for the included headphone jack. If you are going to opt for an orientation with many additional buttons. You can set it as you want.
In testing Stealth Pivot, I found module rotation to be a nice function to have. Jump from first person shooter like Stalker 2 Where the dual joysticks are important is for precision side-scrollers. Nine Soul Easy and convenient to use with the controller. And I feel like having two different configurations for two different games makes each experience better.
The Turtle Beach Stealth Pivot has the basics right and is critical to its broad appeal. Of course, there are subcommunities that find controllers more appealing than others. But knowing that Turtle Beach hasn't neglected premium controller features or placed too much emphasis on modules, This allows everyone to treat each unique function as an added bonus. Basically It's 3+ controllers in one and they all work really well.
