TheGamer's Disney Lorcana wishlist for 2025

Disney Lorcana's first year was a big one. Four full-size packs expand the game with over 800 new cards, making it one of the most complete and diverse metas in TCG. We also have the first season of Disney Lorcana Challenge, which brings massive organized play to North America and Europe Raise the stakes with high value prizes and increase the competitive level of the game.

Amber/Steel may not be a key player in Disney Lorcana's European Championship, but it's becoming a big deal now.

Lorcana celebrated its one-year anniversary at D23 Expo with some exciting images of what's to come in the year ahead. We now know the names of the first two 2025 editions (Archazia's Island and Reign of Jafar), as well as Some of those movies include Bolt and The Black Cauldron. The rest of what Lorcana has in store for 2025 remains a mystery. So here are our wishes for the year ahead.

New and improved accessories

Lorcana deck box and file

They say that a TCG collection is only as good as the box you put it in. No one really says that. But players and collectors alike agree that having good accessories is essential. Unfortunately, Ravensburger still cannot offer many high quality Lorcana products.

In particular, the quality of the deck boxes and deck sleeves has been a sore spot since the game launched in 2023, and we haven't seen any improvements with either product over the past year. There's a new binder and deck box made by Ultra Pro that launched in November. But it's not on Amazon, Ravensburger's website, or my local game store. If the deck box falls into the forest…

In 2025, I want a high quality sleeve. durable storage box plastic legend counter and other accessories To make playing the game easier and more fun.

Expanding organized play

Disney Lorcana Trophy

I was incredibly impressed with what Ravensburger accomplished with this year's Disney Lorcana Challenge series, with the event overall running smoothly and featuring a high level of competition with worthwhile prizes. In 2025, I'd love to see it play out. that Lorcana's system is getting bigger and bigger

More events in bigger locations will give players more opportunities to play. And considering how quickly tickets are available for each DLC in 2024, there's plenty of demand. I would like to see a youth division similar to how Pokemon separates Junior, Senior, and Masters divisions to encourage kids to play the game and compete on a more equal level. It would be great to see expanded avenues for qualifying for the continental and world championships. To enable the most consistent and committed individuals to compete at the highest level.

Consistency is important, so in 2025 I hope there will be more equality between NA and EU events. The equal application of rules and policies ensures the fairest experience for all players. No matter where they live. It would be great to see more side activities and game modes in the DLC. We're getting new experiences. At the North American Championship So I have hope.

Give us the product

Giant Tinkerbell looked at the three inserted cards from the second set of Lorcana.

As a huge Lorcana fan, I wanted to represent the brand. But aside from the hat and shirt from the DLC trophy wall, there's no way to do that. There's a lot of great art on Lorcana that would look amazing on shirts, jackets, shoes, hats, and socks. I'd love to see merchandise booths at conventions and DLC where players can wear Lorcana's apparel. Lorcana

In addition to clothes There are still many opportunities for Disney characters to be reimagined by Lorcana. The park should be filled with dolls, posters, coffee cups, and magic circles featuring Winnie the Pooh, the Wizard Honey, Cinderella, the Heartless; And Tinkerbell, the giant fairy, where's the pin? We need more pins!

This is a good time to expand the brand beyond TCG. There is so much I want to learn about Lorcana's story and world that would make for great comic books, novels, and animated series. I understand not wanting to get too big too soon. But we need more Lorcana in 2025.

The game-changing mechanic

Archazia's expansion of Lorcana Island

When Locations debuted in Into the Inklands, many wondered if we'd be getting any major game-changing mechanics in any setting. So far, every new mechanic since Locations has been one and done. We got Sing Together in Ursula Returns following. With cast-by-shift characters and discounts in Shimmering Skies, Azurite Sea then introduced an ability that activates every time you add a card to your inkwell. What we haven't gotten yet is a new type of card. Or a new keyword that shakes up the game?

There are some signs that something big is coming to Archazia Island. Some people think it will be a two-color card. But I hope there's a whole new type of card. Lorcana's gameplay is still fresh, but there's nothing more exciting than a new mechanic in a card game. And I can't wait to see what Ravensburger is up to in 2025.
