The Rise of the Golden Idol has been on my must-play list of games ever since it was announced last December. Its direct sequel, 2022's The Case of the Golden Idol , is one of my favorite puzzle games of all time. Which is high praise considering I've played many of the games.
More puzzles, more problems.
Like previous Cases, Rise of the Golden Idol relies on collecting clues and puzzle mechanics to present its mysteries. It has chapters consisting of three or four cases. Each chapter is a static frame of an event or aftermath. And you often have to explore different locations to collect all the clues.
The first few puzzles bring you a press conference. But it lets you explore the morgue and office building in the background. Another event took place at an art auction. And not only can you see what's happening in the room where the prize draw is taking place. But you can also flip between day and night to see what activities are taking place in both areas throughout the day.
Points of interest are indicated by exclamation points. And clicking that point will zoom in on the items. This includes transferring a number of words into your 'word' bucket, most of which will be red herrings. Therefore, it is important to distinguish what is most relevant when you go to or return to many of these points of interest. times may be useful.
Once you have collected all your keywords, You will have to solve a small puzzle (insert faces per name. fingerprint name and a detailed timeline of events) in each case to progress and confirm you understand what's next.
