summarize
- The development of Ogarun and Jiji's relationship is a highlight. It makes Jiji more likable and balances his personality.
- The season finale felt anti-climactic. Lack of excitement as expected
- Even though the ending doesn't look good. But Dandadan's strong storytelling and character development stood out throughout the season.

WARNING: The following contains minor spoilers for Dandadan Episode 12, “Let's Go to the Cursed House,” now streaming on Crunchyroll.
It's strange when an episode It's pretty good, but it has the unfortunate curse of being the season finale at a point in the story that isn't that exciting. (At least for now.) That situation is what the latest episode of Dandadan Feeling more than a little disappointed Which is definitely not ideal. Especially after a totally impressive first season.
Last week was a very busy one for the whole gang. Between Jiji's brash and boisterous debut, Okarun's later despair at the thought of losing Momo's heart, and the screaming mannequins running around. Seeing the model's devotion to his lover (As well as a model) Okarun decides to be more direct with Momo and stop letting his fear get the better of him.

Okarun and Jiji's mandatory team building.
One thing this season needs to accomplish before it wraps up is making Jiji feel like a true part of the team. And it's not just intruders in the cast that make Okarun nervous: for some, his antics might be entertaining enough to make him endearing. But for others And admit that I mean myself. He's a bit too much of himself. It's nice to say that this ending sold me.
To be honest, the execution – at least on my emotional level – was pretty exciting. In Okarun's eyes Jiji is the opposing third wheel and nothing else. And the audience is made to see him in a similar light. Ogarun soon realized how much fun he had talking about the paranormal with Jiji. It was as if the hairs had fallen from his eyes. Jiji suddenly was fine. All because they could finally speak like normal humans. (Who would guess?)
This episode changed the way I look at Jiji.
Even better is this pair. do Address the elephant in the room about their feelings for Momo. But it's much friendlier and funnier when the friends find no trace of spiritual activity at Jiji's house. Momo then runs to the local hot springs and leaves them behind. It became a conscious decision for her. Hoping that Okarun will make new friends. Which turned out to be super cute. And go show everyone how cool Momo is.
Honestly, the biggest success of this episode was making me realize that I wish Jiji wasn't around in the same way that Okarun had been as a child. In a way, it was indicative. Romantic attraction and charm And it shows once again how effective this play can be when the wrench is thrown into gear.
A very anti-climax ending.
As I said from the beginning, this episode was good, it just didn't feel like the season finale. The ending was exciting. But it's not the type that everyone would like. This can be expected from the final episode before the hiatus. Especially from a show that loves telling captivating stories. For credit This is a weak point of many manga adaptations. When the final count falls into place that doesn't quite lend itself to a grand finale. At the end there will be suffering. It doesn't need much. Just want more
Of course, the episode has now been released to the public. They had already announced season 2 in July. Posterity will see this as a minor flaw. This is mitigated by the presence of any episodes that will auto-play afterwards. But still overall It was a boring ending. Ogarun and Jiji discover the first clues to the confusing truth behind the house's mysteries. Meanwhile, Momo is accused by a group of creepy men at the hot springs… The latter at least makes the whole season spin weirdly.
Look at the big picture
However, we need not harp on this point too much. Jiji and Okarun have developed the foundation for a fun relationship. And the depth of Jiji's supernatural situation is quite interesting. It sucks that the intermission of the season would make Momo the target of implied sexual violence again, but… there really isn't much merit to this. It's just bad luck
The past few months have been an exciting one. It's something director Yamashiro and the team at Science Saru should be very proud of.
DandadanThis ending was disappointing only because it closed the book on the season. But it shouldn't reflect too harshly on the rest. The past few months have been an exciting one. It's something director Yamashiro and the team at Science Saru should be very proud of. Don't be surprised if the first words out of your mouth at the end are “That's it!?”
