Stellar Blade is one of the PlayStation's best games this year, despite not being owned by developer Shift Up. Stellar Blade, alongside Black Myth: Wukong, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, and Helldivers 2, has helped the platform for a while. First-party releases are few and far between, but Stellar Blade is in the unique position of not releasing on PC. It's locked down as a PS5 exclusive.
Stellar Blade developer Shift Up has explained in the past that it is “considering” a PC port for the game in the future. But now it has been revealed that the title is set to be separated from the PS5 lineup sometime in the next year. This was confirmed in the Q&A section of Shift Up's latest earnings report (thanks Gematsu), as the company now claims It's targeting a 2025 launch for the PC version of Stellar Blade.

Interestingly, Shift Up also commented on how well they thought Stellar Blade would perform on the platform. And it's fair to say that the developers have high hopes. During the Q&A, Shift Up explained that it believes Stellar Blade will run better on PC than PS5, pointing to the success of Black Myth: Wukong and Steam's “growing AAA game market.”

All this chaos about Eve when Tachi was there?
It's also not an unlikely outcome if we're being honest. Helldivers 2 completely blew up on Steam when it launched earlier this year. This shattered developer Arrowhead's expectations, as Black Myth: Wukong sold millions of copies in a single day. Of course, Stellar Blade had the disadvantage of being available on other systems. But we can still expect it to work well.
You'll likely have twice as many fans of the game as well. Because PC will no doubt offer better performance, with mods to boot, although we don't yet have a specific release date. But it is something to watch. And the upcoming crossover between the game and Nier Automata will also be a waste of time. That collaboration, along with the game's cool photo mode, will drop next week. This month is shaping up to be a pretty cool month for Stellar Blade fans.
