He couldn't say much about it, though. Instead, he said Sega is “discussing” the possibility.
Sega president Shuji Utsumi recently revealed in an interview that the studio is “talking” about a way to bring back Sonic Adventure's beloved Chao Garden.
As Sonic Frontiers showed in 2022 and the long-awaited return of Shadow the Hedgehog proved throughout this year. It feels like Sega has finally nailed what it wanted for Blue Blur, Sonic's has had a bit of a shaky history in the past. But it seems that both his and Sega's futures are stronger than anyone could have imagined.

I can't wait to see kids get murdered in Sonic The Hedgehog 3.
Maria will definitely be wasted in the upcoming threequels.
Shadow Generations is wish-fulfillment, though. But it's fair to say that there are still a lot of things that Sonic fans are looking forward to seeing brought back to the series. Aside from Sonic Adventure 3, one of the biggest requests from fans has been that Chao Garden is back again. Which is something Sega has seemed unwilling to do in the past.
Chao Garden Revival is being “talked about” at Sega.
The BBC recently published an interview with Sega president Shuji Utsumi that mostly focused on Sega being interested in launching its own subscription service like Netflix, with games as the main focus only. Utsumi called the subscription model “interesting.” Very interested” and said Sega is “evaluating” some options.
In the same interview, Utsumi said that he wanted to bring Sega back to its former glory. Meanwhile, it was noted that the next game in the Sonic series would be “quite challenging” and “quite exciting.” While the president did not provide further details about the project, the BBC asked him if he was considering a sequel. Sonic Adventure's sequel or not, which he said will take “a fair amount of time” to live up to expectations.
Utsumi was then asked about Sonic Adventure's beloved Chao Garden, something that fans have been curious about. I've wanted to see it come back for decades. What's really interesting is that Utsumi confirmed that Sega “is talking about it,” but he can't. You can “talk too much”, which indicates that something is being considered.
Although it seems like we're still a long way from what Utsumi was talking about in the interview. But it's at least a positive step to know that Sega is considering bringing back Chao Garden. If we're lucky, it'll stick with Sonic Adventure 3, and two things Sonic fans have wanted for decades will become. The truth at last
