Sonic 3 interview accidentally reveals Super Shadow and Super Sonic

A new interview focusing on Keanu Reeves' role as Shadow in Sonic 3 seems to have accidentally revealed the first images of Super Shadow and Super Sonic.

From the moment Shadow the Hedgehog was first teased in Sonic 2's credits, fans theorized that the next film would closely follow the character's origins. And it's basically a retelling of Sonic Adventure 2, ignoring the number of Sonic games that came close to skipping it. Everything we've seen about Sonic 3 so far seems to confirm that this is indeed the case.

Although most of the images don't reveal much, But there's a shot towards the halfway point of the video that teases the key moment. As noted by Twitter user KellytoyDK, a short image shows the Space Colony Ark getting ready to fire a large laser at Earth. It is assumed to be piloted by Robotniks.

As the Space Colony Ark is displayed, two golden figures can be seen flying up towards it and seeming to be trying to stop it. I probably don't need to tell you this. But it appears to be the first unintentional showing of Super Sonic and Super Shadow. Although it was bound to happen and was heavily teased in the latest trailer. But that seems to be the miss shown here.

This won't come as a surprise to anyone familiar with Shadow's character arc, but this does suggest that he and Sonic will eventually stop fighting each other and work together to defeat the two Robotniks, regardless of how Sonic 3 continues. Whether or not it will go to the end of Adventure 2 remains to be seen. At least we have a big surprise to look forward to.
