For the first time since September 2016 Nintendo Not directly hosting September, there is a Nintendo Partner Showcase and Indie World event in August. But none of the shows were related to Nintendo's upcoming games. Why or why is anyone's guess. But this could range from having nothing to show to the company being too busy behind the scenes with the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 launch coming before March 31, 2025.
This isn't to say there won't be a Nintendo Direct before the end of the year, but for whatever reason, Nintendo hasn't been able to hold an event in a month that has consistently featured major releases for the past eight years. Last September, Nintendo Direct was then It's 2023, where Nintendo shows off the game's anticipated remake. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door,Princess Peach Showtimeand the second wave of Slatun 3 DLC and much more
In theory, Nintendo could shadow a Nintendo Direct on September 30th. This story will be updated in that case, however at this point it feels incredibly unlikely. If Nintendo does, it would make It is the latest in September to occur until the date that most occur around the middle of the month.
Traditionally, these Nintendo Directs are the last major show of the year for the Big N. There have been cases where Indie World, Mobile Direct, or Direct for Super Nintendo World happened yesterday. But it's not a mainstream first-party show. Maybe August's indie world will open up space for a bigger Nintendo Direct later this year. But that's pure speculation. All fans can do right now is wait for Nintendo to announce the event, if it's definitely happening this year. It looks like there won't be some kind of major first-party Nintendo Direct this year. But this is officially uncharted territory.

The last September without a Nintendo Direct was in 2015, which means that this year's absence marks an eight-year break from uninterrupted activity, of course, if Nintendo isn't prepared for that. It also doesn't make sense for the company to force September to tick like a box. Nintendo might return to normal next year with a Direct in September 2025, but it would be more questionable than it has been in the last eight years. come
Of all possible explanations The most logical explanation is that Nintendo is going all out in preparing the Nintendo Switch 2. Fans might be forgiving in this case. Given that several Switch 2 leaks sound incredibly promising, Time will tell. But at least this time in Nintendo's history is over.
