Schedule, format, prize pool, and more

Clash Royale is back with yet another season of the popular Clash Royale League (CRL) 2024 and fans are just excited with the hype going around. After the successful 2023 season, this year promises fantastic competitive gameplay with Monthly Qualifiers, Golden Tickets, and more, following last year’s format. So, let me help you break down the details of the mega Esports event including the schedule, format, prize pool, and more.

Clash Royale League (CRL) 2024: Tournament Format

With the success of the monthly competitions in 2021 and 2023, organizers have decided to continue the tradition in 2024. Over the course of the year, we will be getting eight finalists to compete in the grand stage.

Monthly Qualifiers

The Monthly Qualifiers is the first way to gain entry to the World Finals, which will be kicking off in April 2024 and will go all the way to August. In this event, the top 1000 players of the Path of Legends will have the chance to participate in Monthly Qualifiers, battling for victory until only 8 players are left, as I previously mentioned.

These eight players will then progress to the Monthly Finals, where one winner from each final will earn a Golden Ticket to the CRL World Finals. Over five months, from April to August, these monthly competitions will unfold in-game via the Tournament Hub, offering players not only prize money but also the chance to earn Golden Tickets and CRL competitive points.

Golden Tickets and Competitive Points

For those aspiring to step onto the grand stage, Golden Tickets serve as the golden opportunity. At the end of the regular season, following the conclusion of the 5 qualifiers, the player with the highest points total will be awarded a Golden Ticket.

Even if players fall short of first place, they won’t leave empty-handed. Every participant will earn CRL Competitive Points, contributing to a monthly leaderboard. The player who tops this leaderboard by the end of August will secure the sixth Golden Ticket.

Beyond the monthly competitions, two additional paths lead to the World Finals. One Golden Ticket will be granted to the champion of the Chinese Tournament, following a similar format from the previous year. The last Golden Ticket will be bestowed upon the top player of yet another leaderboard, reserved for Community Tournaments, a new addition to this year’s competition.

So, the total breakdown of Golden Tickets will be as follows:

Event Golden Tickets Obtained
Monthly Qualifiers (April to August) 5
CRL Points Leaderboard 1
Community Tournaments Leaderboard 1
China’s Regional 1

Looking back at it, the number of Golden Tickets has been cut by half compared to 2023 when 16 players competed live in the World Finals, which is disappointing of course, but this makes the competition tougher, and I like it.
