DUBAI: American singer-songwriter Katy Perry highlighted Arab designers this week during the filming of her home-inspired music video for her single “Lifetimes”.
She's wearing the Glass Dalida PVC flat sandals designed by Romanian-Jordanian shoe designer Amina Muaddi. The shoes feature a bold design, with the entire construction, including the heel and sole, made of transparent material. The open-toe sandals have a thick, flared heel.
The singer paired her heels with a metallic silver Shanghai mini dress from Ibiza-based label Jennyinibiland. The dress had a strapless neckline and a deep cutout detail at the front, adding a futuristic feel. The fabric has a reflective, mirror-like finish.
She chose the KA YO CHIMI Silvaner Clear sunglasses from Chimi, a Swedish brand known for its stylish and creative eyewear. The sunglasses feature clear frames and tinted lenses.
Perry will release the music video on August 9, she wrote on Instagram, sharing photos from her shoot.
The singer dropped a teaser for her new single last week, posting a clip on social media using the song as the soundtrack.
“Lifetimes” comes after she released the female-focused single “Woman's World,” the first single from her sixth studio album, 143.
While she hasn't revealed the full tracklist for the album yet, it's set to drop on September 20. During a live broadcast on Instagram and TikTok, she teased a few songs and features, including “I'm His He's Mine” featuring Doechii, “Gimme Gimme” featuring 21 Savage, and “Nirvana.”
Perry released her latest album, “Smile,” in August 2020, which features the album's title track “Daisies,” “Smile,” “Never Really Over,” “Harleys in Hawaii” and “Cry About It Later.”
Muaddi’s brand has built a strong fan base among a number of high-profile celebrities, with fans including Dua Lipa, Gigi Hadid, Kylie Jenner and Hailey Bieber Baldwin, all of whom have worn her designs on numerous occasions.
In 2021, her influence and impact on the fashion world was further recognized when she was named to the prestigious list of “50 Most Influential Women” by Women's Wear Daily and Footwear News.
