RIYADH: A surge in domestic investment and credit saw Qatar's banking assets grow by 1.2% month-on-month in June to 1.99 trillion Qatari riyals ($546.4 billion), according to QNB Financial Services. The growth pushed banking assets up by 1.5% in 2024, compared to the 1.96 trillion riyals recorded in December 2023. Domestic holdings rose by 0.7% month-on-month to 1.62 trillion riyals in June, while foreign assets rose by 3% to 292.3 billion riyals.
