But that will change with the release of Dynasty Warriors: Origins, as the lack of a “10” at the end of the title means Origins does things differently than previous games. Dynasty Warriors: Origins Preview – Made to Be a Musou-Have for Newcomers
As someone who had always wanted to get into Dynasty Warriors, Origins became the perfect jumping off point.
Even though I have nothing but good things to say. That's to say after seeing the game's recent trailer, but time will tell if Dynasty Warriors: Origins resonates with fans, as Origins is doing things differently enough that it doesn't qualify as a numbered title. So I asked producer Tomohiko Sho what he thought about continuing Origins as a spin-off series with possibly a sequel.
If Dynasty Warriors: Origins gets a sequel, it might have a new protagonist.
In response, Sho told me that he'd like to make a future sequel to Dynasty Warriors: Origins if it “sells well” and Koei Tecmo lets him continue the story. Romance of the Three Kingdoms (albeit with more detail than before) and he wanted to tell the rest of the story after that.
Moreover, Sho already had an idea for a sequel to Dynasty Warriors: Origins, and one that he hadn't shared up until that point. After talking about Origins' original protagonist, Sho noted that if he were to add more to the series, He probably wanted to do it with a new hero.
This is a personal matter that I really only think about. And I didn't tell anyone, but deep in my heart I thought that if we made a sequel I think even if the hero of this story appears, I like creating new protagonists. – Tomohiko Sho
For anyone taking this as a bad sign for Origins' amnesiac protagonist, Sho has clarified that he will still appear in the game. But he wanted someone else to be the main character. As for those who might be like that We'll just have to hope that Origins does well enough that we'll eventually see it expand.
