Atomfall: Complete Trophy & Achievement Guide

There are 36 achievements in Atomfall, but to get every Atomfall trophy, players will have to complete multiple playthroughs to meet all requirements.

In fact, if you are very efficient, it’s possible to beat Atomfall in under an hour. Follow this guide to the Atomfall ‘Quick Escape’ trophy to learn exactly how to speedrun Atomfall, exactly where you must go in what order, and learn other tips to beat Atomfall quickly and secure this achievement.

This guide contains significant spoilers for the end of Atomfall, and for various locations, characters, and other story elements. Don’t go for this achievement as soon as you start the game – come back to it and try an Atomfall speedrun to get the ‘Quick Escape’ trophy once you’ve experienced the game the intended way.

Atomfall Speedrun Requirements & Checkpoints

a telephone booth in Atomfall

To speedrun Atomfall, you only need to collect seven items: five Atomic Batteries, the Signal Redirector, and Dr. Holder’s infection resistance buff. You do not need to get any Strange Tonics if you have this buff, at least not if you are quick to get through Infection-ridden areas.

Of course, there are other items and places you must visit to get all Atomic Batteries and open the Windfall’s Crate that contains the Signal Redirector, but technically, these items are all you need to beat the game.

Fair warning – you’re going to have to snap a lot of necks and kill friendly NPCs to get the required items quickly.

This list of all Atomfall speedrun checkpoints offers a route that leads players on an optimized speedrun route to get all seven items as fast as possible, along with approximate times that correspond with our own speedrun of the game. Though this guide recommends a route that will allow you to finish the game in under one hour, you will get the ‘Quick Escape’ trophy as long as you complete the game in under five hours.

Complete Quick Escape Trophy Walkthrough

Step-By-Step Guide To Speedrun Atomfall In Under 5 Hours

Kill Molly (Battery 1)

First, head to the northwest part of Slatten Dale along the path that leads left across the clifftop until you reach Molly’s trader camp. Kill Molly, loot her Flashlight, Club, and Atomic Battery, then continue into Wyndham Village.

Kill Vicar (Battery 2)

Run into St. Katherine’s Church and kill the Vicar. Pick up the Vicar’s Key and walk upstairs to find a sealed chest. Pick up the Atomic Battery contained within, then go to the Interchange via the Wyndham Village entrance.

Wyndham Village Interchange Entrance

Sprint to the back of St. Katherine’s Church and jump over the fence directly to the east of the church graveyard to find the Wyndham Village Interchange entrance. Enter the Interchange, unlock the door, then release the lock that leads into the Central Processor. As soon as you unlock this door, don’t go into the Central Processor – instead, sprint back to Wyndham Village and continue to Skethermoor.

Protocol Workshop & Windfall Key

Once you enter Skethermoor, hug the wall to your left (the northern border of the zone) until you come across a Protocol bunker. Enter the Protocol Workshop, then sprint to the right, then left down the hall, until you reach a bathroom. Squeeze past the stall in the far back, climb up into the gap, then loot the Windfall Keycard off of the body.

Climb out of this room and loot the B.A.R.D. crates in the next room to find a gun, some ammo, and several healing items. Leave the workshop before any soldiers can land a shot on you.

Atomfall: Mother Jago Ending Walkthrough

In Atomfall, Mother Jago is one of several characters who offers the player escape, but only if they follow her instructions and give in to The Voice.

Downed Robot (Battery 3)

Continue directly to the east until you find a sparking destroyed B.A.R.D. Robot in the middle of the water, just northwest of Nora’s Barn. Jump on top of the robot to avoid being attacked by leeches. Loot its Atomic Battery, then run into Nora’s Barn.

Kill Nora (Battery 4)

Sprint through both tripwires in the room immediately to the southeast of the downed robot, then turn left to enter Nora’s Barn. Kill Nora and loot her Atomic Battery. Then, leave and head southwest, past the phone box, to find the Protocol Field Bunker. This area is heavily guarded, and you will trip alarms if you get too close to the klaxon sirens on the perimeter. While within the fenced-off area, you will be considered trespassing.

Windfall’s Crate & Signal Redirector

To avoid alerting soldiers as long as possible, continue south past the phone box outside this Protocol camp, then turn right and carefully jump over the hill directly to the south of the main entrance. If you are careful and quick, you won’t alert any soldiers.

Continue to the west through the field until you see a fenced-off bunker with a single guard standing outside. Enter the bunker, then sprint forward to the end of the hall. Turn left, then open the door a little ways down this hall to find the Windfall’s Crate, which contains the Signal Redirector. Leave the bunker, then continue to the west.

Skethermoor Interchange Entrance

Go around the minefield across the ravine to the west of the Protocol Field Bunker, and take care to avoid being seen by the patrolling B.A.R.D. Robot directly north of the Skethermoor prison. This robot uses flamethrowers, so you should be safe if you stay far away, even if you do alert it to your presence.

Enter the Skethermoor Prison through its northern entrance, up the hill, and move side to side to avoid being shot by soldiers and the sentry turret. As soon as you pass the inner fence, turn left to find the Skethermoor Interchange Entrance. There is usually a B.A.R.D. Robot standing guard nearby – be careful not to attract its attention as best as you can, and enter the Interchange as fast as possible to avoid being killed by the Sentry Gun.

Inside the Skethermoor Entrance, you will see two Soldiers in the main lobby. Shoot these two with a headshot to quickly take them out, then go down the ladders at the end of the room. Open the Skethermoor Interchange entrance just beyond a closed door below the lobby.

Atomfall: All Garden Gnome Locations

In Atomfall, Gnomes are collectibles that are tied to the ‘Orna Mental’ achievement, but you have to destroy them to earn the trophy.

Central Processor (Battery 5)

Continue into the Central Processor, then pick up the battery by the dead scientist next to the switchboard. Slot an Atomic Battery into the power slot to the right of this board. Then, turn around and leave via the Wyndham Village shortcut you unlocked earlier.

Power Data Store Alpha

After powering the Interchange central control room, you will be able to release the locks on all four Data Stores. Start with Data Store Alpha, as it is the most difficult Data Store to power up. This room is completely filled with Infection spores, and there are two exploding Infection plants in your way of the Atomic Battery slot.

Use a gun to shoot each of these two exploding plants from a distance, then exit the room. Heal up with bandages and First Aid Kits you found so far, then run back in and quickly power up Data Store Alpha with an Atomic Battery. Sprint out of the room to avoid being infected longer than necessary – though the room does get vented once it is powered, it takes a few seconds for the damage tick to stop.

Church Cellar Key in Medical

After powering up Data Store Alpha, you will have access to the Medical wing of the Interchange. Sprint into Medical, watch out for Thralls, and turn right. Turn right again to find the Church Cellar Key next to the body of a dead scientist, then leave Medical and head back to St. Katherine’s Church.

Atomfall: How To Upgrade Weapons

To upgrade weapons, Atomfall players must pick up a specific Skill and collect the materials necessary to craft a better gun.

Infection Resistance

Open the Forgotten Cellar in the church crypt and you will meet Dr. Alan Holder. Don’t talk to him – instead, just pick up the Infection Resistance manual from a table in this room, then leave and head back to Slatten Dale. With this passive resistance buff active, you will not need a Strange Tonic to survive the spore-filled first room of the Windscale Plant.

Slatten Dale Interchange Entrance

Enter Slatten Dale from Wyndham Village and head east across the railyard and up the quarry steps until you find the Interchange entrance bunker. Open this Interchange Entrance to reveal the final two Data Stores.

Power Data Stores Charlie, Bravo, & Delta

Enter the Interchange via Slatten Dale, and you will unlock access to Data Store Charlie and Bravo. Slot an Atomic Battery into each of these Data Stores, then sprint across the Central Processor room to power Data Store Delta. Return to the Central Processor once you have powered all four Data Stores.

Power The Central Processor & Enter The Windscale Plant

Once all entrances have been unlocked, and all Data Stores have been powered, you must use your Signal Redirector on four switches below the ground near each entrance to power up the Central Processor. Wait for the processor to appear, and a hallway to Oberon will connect to the locked door to the left of the control panel.

Enter the Windscale Plant and pick up the phone for the first time – the Voice on the Phone will tell you to destroy Oberon.

Atomfall: What Happens If You Kill Everyone?

You can kill every named NPC in Atomfall, and of course, there are consequences for doing so – but you can still finish the game.

Enter Windscale

With your Infection Resistance buff from Dr. Holder’s lab, you should be able to sprint through the spore-infested first room of the Windscale Plant. Run to the right side of this room to avoid the carnivorous plant, then continue through the infection-free second area of the Windscale Plant.

The easiest route here is on the left side, which doesn’t feature any enemies except some Ferals that are easy to outrun. Continue to the end of the Windscale Plant area to find the Oberon Dig Site.

Destroy Oberon

In here, your only option to earn the ‘Quick Escape’ trophy is to destroy Oberon. There are four emergency detonator tanks spread throughout the wide-open room, which is also home to three patrolling B.A.R.D. Robots. Ignore or destroy these robots, and activate each of the four self-destruct detonators.

Walk up to the control room in the Oberon Dig Site and pull the lever labeled “Self-Destruct”. Immediately leave the Oberon Dig Site and sprint back to the entrance to the Windscale Plant, past the Druids and Mother Jago who will appear and try to stop you.

Back to Slatten Dale Starting Bunker

Pick up the ringing telephone after you destroy Oberon to learn your final task: return to the starting bunker in the south of Slatten Dale. Leave the Interchange via the Slatten Dale entrance and avoid engaging with any Outlaws or Druids that stand in your way – there will be a lot of enemies in Slatten Dale at this point, but if you are on the easiest difficulty, you should be able to get through without any issues.

Finally, enter the bunker, run past the starting Scientist (who has been turned into a Thrall) and find the room you woke up in at the start of the game.

Pick up the ringing phone, and tell the voice on the phone that you are ready to leave.

Once the final cutscene begins, you will unlock the ‘Quick Escape’ achievement and successfully complete an Atomfall speedrun!
