How To Get The Ruffle Diatrima Morph Stone In Throne And Liberty

The Terrific Trio of Carmine Forest is Throne and Liberty‘s fourth chapter in the Adventure Codex. During this quest you will aid Robert, Sophia, and Rutaine, a trio of warrior friends who have vowed to do all they can to keep the citizens of Laslan safe. A young girl has gone missing from a nearby village, and the trio needs your assistance in finding her.

As you progress, you’ll learn there is more to it than just a simple child gone missing. There are darker forces at play, and it’s up to you and the Terrific Trio to save the day. The guide below will tell you everything you need to know each step of the way, including what rewards you can expect to get for completing each task.

How To Start The Terrific Trio Of Carmine Forest

You won’t be able to start Chapter 4: The Terrific Trio of Carmine Forest until you’ve finished the previous chapter, Veterans Never Die.

Teleport to Starlight Observatory Ruins, and speak to Lunar-17. After a brief conversation, you’ll be told to go speak with Rutaine the wizard. This will trigger the start of the first codex for this questline: Rutaine, the Genius Wizard.

He’s waiting for you below near the Carmine Forest Waypoint, and you can easily get there by gliding down from a high point at the observatory.

While you’re there,
be sure to activate the waypoint
so you can easily travel to Carmine Forest the next time you need to visit.

How To Collect The Mana Recording Devices In Carmine Forest

A child, Lucille, from Vienta Village, has gone missing and Rutaine needs your help to find her. Your first task is to retrieve the mana recording devices he’s placed around Carmine Forest to track the movements of a monster named Morokai.

You’ll find clusters of spider eggs all over Carmine Forest, but beware, as the Blood Spiders will attack you whenever you get near.

Search any of the egg clusters to retrieve the mana recording devices, then deliver them to Rutaine. He will analyze the results, then send you to the Nesting Grounds to speak with Robert, the Wind Ranger.

How To Find The Carriages And The Chief Terror Bird Nest

Robert is located in the Nesting Grounds region of the map, right next to the Nesting Grounds Waypoint. If you’ve not been to this area before, you likely won’t have the waypoint activated yet. However, if you use your dash morph and follow the quest marker on the map, you’ll be there in no time.

After talking to Robert, he’ll ask you to examine the destroyed carriages in the Nesting Grounds, and investigate the Chief Terror Bird Nest to look for any clues about the missing girl.

The carriages you need to examine are in close proximity to each other. The first is near Pilgrim’s Crossroads, the second is at the Bridge of Peace, and the final one is at the base of the Chief Terror Bird Mountain.

After searching the carriages, follow the mountain to the left till you find an opening and the nest inside with the corpse of the Chief Terror Bird. Search the corpse, then go back to Robert.

A Chief Terror Bird will
periodically spawn in this location
, and it will attack you on sight, so be prepared for a fight.

When you’ve completed this stage of the quest, you’ll unlock the Ruffle Diatrima morphstone, which you can use as a Dash morph.

How To Find The Children

After learning from your findings that there are more children missing besides Lucille, Robert sends you to Vienta Village, to the east, to speak with Sophia, the leader of the Teriffic Trio. She then asks you to go back and assist Robert as she gathers reinforcements.

Teleport to the Nesting Grounds Waypoint, then head north. You’ll find an abandoned cart near the River Abundance. Examine it to find the trail of the abductors, the children, and Robert.

Head north from the abandoned cart, following the quest marker. There are two mysterious documents here for you to read, but there may also be one or two Arkeum Legion soldiers nearby that will attack you. Deal with them quickly, then read both mysterious documents.

After you read the documents, turn to your right and use the grapple points to ascend to the ledge where the Arkeum Magic Circle is. Defeat the two Arkeum Legion soldiers and then interact with the circle to investigate, then interact with it once more to use it and follow Robert.

How To Free The Children And Join The Resistance

After you’ve teleported, you’ll find Robert fighting off some Arkeum soldiers. Help him defeat the soldiers, speak with him, then follow him as he tracks the trail of the stolen children.

While searching for the children, more Arkeum soldiers will show up. But just as the fight begins, Laslan reinforcements will appear, making the fight a lot easier.

Once you’ve defeated the Arkeum Legion, speak with DaVinci Aron, the Laslan Allied Resistance Forces Leader. This will trigger a cut scene, where DaVinci, Sophia, Robert, and Rutaine discuss the next steps.

When the cut scene is over, wait for Rutaine to open the gate to the north, then follow the group to where the children are being kept in cages. As you approach, a large unit of Arkeum Soldiers will appear. You must defeat them all before you can save the children.

When all the Arkeum Soldiers are dead, help Sophia open the cages to free the children, then speak with DaVinci Aron again. The fight isn’t over yet, it’s time to deal with Zaroth, the one in charge of kidnapping the children.

Follow Aron to Zaroth’s location and help him defeat the Arkeum Commander. This boss fight should be simple enough as long as you’ve been upgrading your stats and gear.

After Zaroth has been defeated, speak with DaVinci Aron about joining the Resistance, then use the teleport circle to leave the hideout.

You’ll arrive just outside Vienta Village. Sophia will be waiting for you at the Traveler Plaza, right by the Waypoint.

Speak with Sophia, then examine the Old Flag of Vienta Village, which is on the side of the tent next to Sophia. Then, use the Infinity Wheel that appears in front of the tent to witness the events of the past.

After you complete the final task, you’ll complete the Terrific Trio of Carmine Forest codex and unlock a trophy/achievement for doing so.

How To Complete Optional Appendices

Among the main story line of The Terrific Trio of Carmine Forest quest, there are five optional Appendix quests you can complete for additional rewards.

Three of the appendices require you to enter three different dungeons in search of Paola’s research journals that she dropped in each one:

Appendix: The Abyssal Contract

Rutaine will ask you to investigate a strange energy in Carmine forest that he found in the Mana Recording Devices. You’ll need to defeat a Soul Arbiter, which will appear on the bridge north of where you talked to Rutaine.

Then, follow the Soldier’s soul to Syleus’s Abyss where Circe awaits. After you defeat Circe, her soul will lead you to the door of the Syleus’s Abyss Dungeon. But instead of going in the dungeon, teleport back to Carmine Forest to tell Rutaine what you found.
