Yemeni officials said Wednesday that 30 people have been killed and hundreds displaced by flooding in the southern city of Hodeidah after days of heavy rain. Yemeni Governor Muhammad Ghahim told Houthi-controlled Masirah TV that flooding had displaced 500 homes and that five people were missing, he said. Hodeidah, Taiz in the southwest and Hajjah in the northwest were also hit hard by flooding this week as seasonal rains in Yemen continued to flood and wash away poorly built houses.
