Female cop’s alleged ties to heroin dealer land her in court

A rookie cop has appeared in court accused of having an illicit relationship with a drug kingpin.

Police Constable Caitlin Howarth was investigated by West Yorkshire Police, north east of Manchester, England, over her alleged links to the jailed heroin dealer.

She appeared at York Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday charged with misconduct in a public office in relation to the alleged relationship, The Sun reported.

The student officer, who has been suspended, spoke only to confirm her name, date of birth and address.

She was unconditionally bailed to next appear at York Crown Court on April 12.

“A West Yorkshire Police student officer has been charged with misconduct in a public office,” police said.

“PC Caitlin Howarth, 24, who works in Bradford District, is due to appear at York Magistrates Court on March 7.

“The charge relates to a relationship with a notifiable association with criminal connections.

“She is currently suspended from duty.”

Howarth also reportedly had an affair with married Chief Superintendent Daniel Greenwood – 17 years her senior.

The Bradford District Commander, who has worked with West Yorkshire Police for 20 years, has been suspended on full pay following the claims.
