The Beam Gun mod goes as far as using the gun trellis and original sound effects to make it feel as formal as possible.
A talented Dead Rising fan managed to get the infamously abandoned Beam Gun to work in the Deluxe Remaster, finally making one of the game's most famous secrets a reality.
As great as Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is, it's when it comes to bringing the series back and capturing its spirit. It's fair to say that it doesn't add much new content to the experience. In addition to changing the quality of life A few new books and an abandoned Rocket Launcher weapon. It will be a very familiar journey to Willamette for fans.

I hope I get to experience Dead Rising for the first time again.
Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is the best way to play Frank West's adventures, but I'll never forget my first time.
Personally, though, I would love to be able to experience Dead Rising again with fresh colors and much better gameplay mechanics. But it looks like there will be some new additions. Go in a little further. That seemed to be the plan at one point, as a trusted Dead Rising insider found evidence that the infamous Beam Gun would finally be put to good use.
Dead Rising's Beam Gun is finally available in the Deluxe Remaster.
Back when Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster first launched. Dead Rising STiP0 historians discovered that a new and improved version of the Beam Gun was hidden in the game's files. This indicates that the developers intended to make it playable at some point, although STiP0 was able to make it happen in a remaster. But it's just as useless. with how it returned in the original game
But that's no longer the case. As Twitter user FrankByDaylight highlighted, Nexus Mods creator countmosh has made Dead Rising history and the Beam Gun is finally available. The mod works by replacing the unlockable Real Mega Buster weapon with a Beam Gun. Complete with original shooting sound.
To make things even cooler, countmosh has optimized the mesh to reduce the number of clips Frank uses, as well as tweaking the UI and other visual elements to make it feel as formal as possible. We really don't know. What will the Beam Gun's projectile be like? But this version uses the modified charge explosion from the Mega Buster while using the Beam Gun's remaining fire rate.
Funnily enough, STiP0 had a hand in the mod as well, as countmosh confirmed that he supplied the original sound effects. And made him aware of it from the beginning.
Simply put, this mod is the closest we've come to an easily accessible Beam Gun in Dead Rising, and it includes all the variables the original weapon would have. Unfortunately, we never got an official version, but countmosh's mod is easily the next best thing.
