Canadian North Korea expert detained in Switzerland on espionage charges -reports

SEOUL: A former United Nations official from Canada, who is now working as a North Korea expert, has been detained in Switzerland on charges of espionage, likely from China, media reports said on Thursday, citing unnamed intelligence sources. The report is part of a joint investigation by Germany's Der Spiegel news agency, Swiss media company Tamedia and North Korea-focused website NK News. The Swiss attorney general's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the case.
