What was that? You thought Amazon Prime Day was over. Yes, it technically is over, but that doesn't mean you have to wait until next year for Amazon's next big sale. You don't even have to wait for the chaos that is Black Friday. That's because Big Deal Days, Amazon's temporary event between the two, is back. Running between October 8th and 9thBig Deal Days are an opportunity for holiday shoppers to hit the road early in the morning for a chance to score big discounts.
Almost every product you want at a lower price is likely to be discounted in some form on Amazon during Big Deal Days. Finding the items you want at the biggest discounts isn't always as easy as it sounds, but to save you some time searching Amazon throughout the two-day event and in preparation for the massive sale on Big Deal Days, we've rounded up some of the best deals for you. This hub is specifically focused on heavily discounted video games.And whether you play on PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo Switch, there’s bound to be something cheaper for you below.
PS5 and PS4 games
By the time the 2024 Big Deal Days sale kicks off, the PS5 Pro pre-order window will have opened. Some of you may be lucky enough to get your hands on one, whether it's the regular model or the PS1-style 30th Anniversary Edition. While the latter looks great and the games you play will look great on both, both are expensive, so why not grab a few games for a cheaper price while they're still available?
Of course, the PlayStation section of this guide isn't just for those looking to buy a PS5 Pro. There are also discounted games for those on the base PS5 model, and for PS4 owners who want to stick with their previous gen for a while longer. While none of the above might appeal to you right now, we'll be adding more deals to each section during the build-up to Big Deal Days and throughout the event.
Nintendo Switch Games
Even though the Nintendo Switch has been out for over seven years now, and we know there's a new model coming soon, even though Nintendo hasn't told us anything about the console, Nintendo's most popular games are rarely discounted. The Switch is on track to become the best-selling console of all time, with 21 of Nintendo's games selling over 10 million copies, so Nintendo is doing well. I think it can survive if we get some of its games at a cheaper price.
That said, Switch games still sell well, even on sale, so there’s often little savings to be had. With that in mind, we’ve tried to find some of the most popular Switch games that, while they may not be significantly discounted in most cases, will be cheaper during Big Deal Days and will cost more during sales.
Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One games
The biggest selling point of owning an Xbox is still Game Pass, despite recent price hikes and tier changes. However, if you don’t have Game Pass, whether you were never interested in it in the first place or the price increase has changed your mind, you can use your Series X|S or Xbox One like any other console.
Of course, Game Pass is still a good deal, but it all depends on how often you use it. If you only play a few games a year, it might be cheaper to get them, especially when some are on sale. And right now, there are a lot of big games on sale thanks to Big Deal Days. Some of the games above aren't available on Game Pass, so get them at a reduced price while they're still available.
